Jared Michael Kubokawa is an assistant professor in the department of humanities at Aichi University where he teaches EFL courses in literacy and communication. His research interests include second language and multilingual writing, composition research and pedagogy, communities of practice, multilingual creativity, and writing teacher education. Jared has traveled abroad extensively as an EFL teacher and teacher mentor as well as presented at national and international conferences in L2 writing, multilingual creativity, and creative writing. He is a member of the Linguistic Society of America (LSA), and the American Association of Applied Linguistics (AAAL).

Jared publishes research in various academic journals and attends conferences worldwide in the fields of second language writing, applied linguistics, and ESL/EFL instruction and research. Please don’t forget to say hello if you see him.

He is also a second language creative writer himself. Jared often writes poems and songs in his first, second, and sometimes other languages. Check out the Facebook and YouTube links to for original videos and audio recordings.

Conducted accurate and reliable assessments of student’s speaking level for the IELTS examination.

Creatively designed lesson plans for English courses to all levels of fluency, Beginner to Advanced; as well as English for Special Purposes (ESP). Effectively delivered English Communication Skills (ECS) classes in a communicative, student- centered manner which motivated students to succeed.

Mentored and trained Malaysian public school teachers to improve the quality of teaching and learning in English language classrooms. Coached teachers to raise English proficiency, develop teaching resources and assessment techniques. Organized, mentored and trained teachers to participate in symposiums and resource sharing sessions. Implemented various school improvement projects.
